Rigor Mortis Knee Sleeves - Choosing The Right Size?
The Rigor Mortis Hourglass Sleeves are a revelation to the knee sleeve market and with this advancement in design comes a change in thinking when it comes to the knee sleeve sizing. Gone are the days of sizing down and trying to SQUEEZE into a pair of sleeves just because you can. Before ordering we advise you checking out the below information. The sizing chart embedded is key to your success... Look at this first then read on if you would like more information :)
Before Ordering
Check, Check and Triple Check your size! The sizing chart is there for a reason and sizing down vs the sizing chart will not result in better performance. Using a pliable tape measure make sure to measure as per the sizing chart. You may find that your quad, knee and calf all measure slightly different sizes vs the chart. If this is the case, the knee joint is the best measurement to choose and if your calf or knee is larger than this measurement size up one size.
If all your measurements are in the same size category then this will be suitable. Most of the time we will advise customers to choose the larger of 2 sizes if they span both sizes. This is because the sleeves are so dense they will almost act in a similar way to a knee wrap. For the sleeve to have this effect you want to get as much fabric above the knee joint as possible. If you size down this is less likely to happen and you will not get the same amount of performance out of the sleeves.
Putting on for the first time
This is important. DO NOT USE STRAPS or other AIDS to get the sleeves on. If you cannot get them on without any other aids such as talc, lubricant or a lifting strap to pull the sleeves up it means they are too small. You will not be able to use any aids during competition to put the sleeves on, so it is always better to get them on unassisted from the off, if possible. Using aids may void the warranty on this product.

Taking off for the first time
When taking the sleeve off, patience is key. If you are not used to the ultra-dense sleeves they may feel like they are stuck and not moving but after a little bit of time they should come off easily. It is much easier to take the sleeve off if you have grounding with the floor. We would recommend keeping your shoe on and trying to take the sleeve off with your foot firmly planted on the floor.
When taking the sleeves off, try not to completely fold them inside out. This will not only make it easier to get the sleeves on next time, but also increase the longevity of the sleeves
